THINK OUTSIDE THE  BOX

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”  Why, why can’t we have permanent safeguards? Recently people have become active in a movement to reduce taxes and the role of government and I commend them for their efforts.  I’ve been to several luncheons, conferences and rallies and this quote by Ronald Reagan is the one most repeated.  I don’t believe that freedom should be so fragile, I want a permanent solution. Over a period of decades and little by little government has taken control of our lives under the guise of a protector. If the economy recovers will these people still be there to stop the creeping loss of our freedoms? Politicians are politicians and once those who we send to protect us from the encroaching demands of government are engrained in the existing system, they are more likely to continue the process than to reverse it. That has happened time and again in every town, every state and every country in the world. We have seen freedom’s demise in countries south of the border as sincere and heart felt promises have turned noble causes into a desperate search for proven solutions and its leaders into despots.

The only way to guarantee freedom is in the classroom where economics is taught like physics as a science. In our colleges and universities the economics department is more likely to be overshadowed by the philosophy department that teaches the totalitarian concepts of communism or the right to seizure embodied in socialism.  The economy can be run on sound principles, basic law, that can be written up on a chalk board as mathematical formulas; Scientific and provable concepts and not philosophical ideas that arise at the whims of leadership to calm the masses who have been raped by preceding administrations.

Economic laws exists.

To discover them, we need only think outside the box.
